Nikki Olszewski and John Taylor, Mathematics Teachers, Libertyville High School -- Portable technology tablet to assist math teachers to better accommodate student needs through mobility in the classroom.
Sara Rogers, Team Leader, Libertyville High School-- Identify behaviorally at-risk students and provide a curricular intervention for those students
Brooke Gabris, Physical Welfare Teacher, Vernon Hills High School--“Traveling” Polar Heart Rate Monitors will enable students to evaluate the exercise they engage in outside of class.
Beau Schaefer, Science Teacher, Libertyville High School--The salt water aquarium as a model for nitrogen and phosphorus cycling. Students will monitor nitrate and phosphate levels for the entire year as they relate to food quantities, algae growth, and the use of a refugium (a side tank with plants to act as a biological filter).
Karen Day, Ellen Macias, Nancy Skeffington, Vernon Hills High School -- To enhance existing school courtyard with a therapeutic garden that would include healing plant materials and inspirational art pieces.
Dave Schroetter, Jerry Miceli, Physical Welfare Teachers, Vernon Hills High School -- Advanced Weight Training Lifting Lab is a three station lab where students will videotape and evaluate their three core lifts.
Sherri Rukes, Science Teacher, Libertyville High School -- Students will research various chemistry topics that relate to the powers of superheroes and will devise related hands-on activities for elementary/middle school students to do on Chemistry Day at the school.
